For our 10th Annual Owners’ Rally, we headed to the remote expanses of southern Colorado. We ventured over Cottonwood Pass to Taylor Park for our initial meet & greet, and first night camping by Taylor Reservoir. It was a frosty night but everyone stayed toasty warm in their Roamers. Next, we traveled through the wilderness of Saguache Park and Old Cochetope Pass, with only eagles and antelope for company. We wound our way further west to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, an epic and little known Colorado treasure. The steep canyon walls and wild Gunnison River rushing far below call to mind a mini Grand Canyon, with a more mysterious aura. Nights four and five of the journey took us to the Rio Grande Reservoir and Platoro Reservoir for fishing, hiking and exploring around these lightly traveled, remote Colorado gems. We capped the adventure with a journey by train from Antonito, Colorado to Chama, New Mexico. After days of driving we all kicked back and enjoyed the fabulous scenery and luxuriously restored parlor cars. It was a memorable end to a diverse and exciting Rally.
