EarthRoamer Leadership

Bill Swails

Founder & CEO

Bill Swails founded EarthRoamer in 1998 as a business focused on adventure travel, writing, and photography. At that time Bill was driving a custom expedition camper he built in his driveway to explore, travel and camp in remote locations. In 2002 it became clear that many people were interested in a “go anywhere” four-wheel drive camper, so Bill designed the EarthRoamer XV-LT and started manufacturing Xpedition Vehicles. Bill has held every position at EarthRoamer, but his favorite “jobs” are designing vehicles and sharing adventures with EarthRoamer owners.

Bill received his BS in Systems Engineering from Ohio State University in 1985, and his MBA from UCLA in 1995. Bill has over 30 years of experience in engineering management, consulting, marketing, operations, design, writing and photography for a diverse group of companies including McDonnell Douglas (Aerospace), American Management Systems (Consulting), Qwest Communications (Telecom) and EarthRoamer (Xpedition Vehicle Design, Production, Marketing and Sales).

Curtis DesEnfants

Director of Supply Chain

Curtis came to EarthRoamer early in 2008 from a background of building police and emergency vehicles and a brief stint as a RV repair technician. He was not impressed with the build quality in the RV marketplace and was thrilled to work for a company that strived for a much higher level of quality. He quickly earned the respect of his peers as an expert in the electronics field and was one of the primary designers of the electrical system used in the current EarthRoamer XV-LTS. He was promoted to Production Coordinator in 2015, Production Director in late 2016, and Director of Supply Chain in 2018.

Curtis learned the value of hard work growing up on his parent’s cattle ranch in southeastern Wyoming. He left the rural lifestyle in 2001 and has been in the Denver metro area ever since. He married his wife Stephanie in 2006 and they have 2 children, Joey and Sophie. He enjoys golf, slow-pitch softball and camping with his family and friends.

Spencer’s attention to detail, depth of knowledge and genuine care for our customers combine to provide the highest standards for service. He was promoted to Director of Customer Experience in February 2019.

Spencer grew up in the Pacific Northwest. An avid outdoorsman, he moved to Colorado in 2012 so he could enjoy the mountains and sunshine.
