Bathroom & Shower
Like the rest of the EarthRoamer camper design, EarthRoamer XV-LT bathrooms are extremely space efficient yet highly functional. XV-LT bathrooms are heated, have generous stand-up heights and contain a cassette toilet, toilet paper holder, hot/cold shower, compact “hand washing” sink, mirror, exhaust fan, clothes drying line, and a soap/shampoo dispenser with storage for toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors and small bath items. The molded gel-coated fiberglass wet-bath features easy to clean surfaces with radiused corners and gapless seam construction that prevents mold and mildew build-up. A dry bath with separate shower is optional on XV-LT Stretch and XV-LT Super Stretch models.
The bathroom door and closet door are designed to be latched together to provide a changing room and access to dry towels and clothes after showering. This effectively increases the size of the bathroom when showering and dressing by temporarily converting living space to bathroom space without wasting precious interior space with a permanent large bathroom.
EarthRoamer XV-LT’s use a cassette toilet waste handling system popular with European camper designs. By using a cassette toilet, exposure to waste is minimized and waste disposal is greatly simplified. The waste holding cassette is accessible via an access door from the outside of the camper and can be emptied into a dump station, conventional toilet or pit/vault toilet. The cassette tank has a capacity of five gallons which for two people will need to be emptied approximately every two to three days. The convenience of emptying the cassette far outweighs the need to dispose of waste more frequently and an additional cassette can be carried in the rear locker for additional capacity. With the cassette solution, there is no large waste tank to empty and no sewage hose to handle. This is an elegant solution that allows for convenient waste disposal in remote locations and during the winter, when traditional RV dump stations are not available
The cassette toilet water supply is provided by the main water tank and a gauge on the toilet indicates when it is time to empty the cassette. Simply push a button on the toilet to partially fill the bowl with water, use the toilet, then flush with the flush lever. All waste goes into a sealed storage inside the toilet that is accessible from an access door on the rear drivers side of the vehicle. The storage tank has wheels and a handle much like a small portable wheeled carry on suitcase – but please don’t try to carry this on your next flight!
To conserve water while showering, the shower sprayer has a two position lever. One position is a momentary on position and water only flows when the lever is pushed like a typical kitchen sprayer. Water temperature is controlled by the mixing valve. When water is readily available, the sprayer can be hung on a wall mount and the lever flipped back 90 degrees. In this position, water flow is controlled by the mixing valve and water flows continuously whenever the mixing valve is open, much like a conventional home shower.
Heating & Ventilation
A variable speed exhaust fan quickly eliminates moisture and odors from the bathroom, and forced air heat keeps the bathroom warm in cold weather and also provides double duty as a clothes dryer. Simply hang wet jackets, clothes or gear on the built-in clothes line and turn on the exhaust fan and heater. Any excess water simply drains into the shower pan, and the forced air heat and exhaust fan dries items quickly.
A florescent light and the roof vent provide ample bath lighting and a small LED night light is perfect for night time trips to the bathroom without being blinded by the main light.
There is nothing quite as luxurious as a hot shower to get your day started or after a day of dirty adventures and having clean sanitary toilet facilities will help ensure a comfortable and safe trip. The bright, spacious and highly functional EarthRoamer XV-LT bathroom is critical to making an EarthRoamer The Civilized Way to Escape Civilization™
